The first-ever International Women’s Cup winner was crowned at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
At the Tokyo Dome event on January 5th, STARDOM’s Momo Watanabe beat AEW’s Willow Nightingale, ROH Women’s World Champion Athena, and CMLL’s Persephone. In doing so, she earned a title shot in a promotion of her choosing. In the closing moments of the match, Thekla interfered and distracted Athena. Her involvement helped Watanabe score the win.
Watanabe then commented on her win backstage.
Watanabe is one of STARDOM’s top stars. She is a three-time Artist of STARDOM Champion, a three-time Goddesses of STARDOM Champion, and a former Wonde of STARDOM Champion.
