Seth Rollins is ready to step into the ring with CM Punk this Monday night when WWE RAW debuts on Netflix.
WWE Superstar Seth “Freakin” Rollins was a recent guest on Good Morning Football. When asked why his match with CM Punk this Monday is so personal to him, Rollins explained the history he’s had with the Straight Edge Superstar.
“Yeah, it’s a long time coming. CM Punk and I were friends. I mean, he was a mentor to me in real life. He helped train me, he helped guide me, and I used his career kind of as a blueprint for my own. We had cut from the same cloth a little bit, and then he betrayed me. He kind of turns his back on me.
“And not only that, he then tried to kind of tear down my success over the years, and I have been successful not because of him and his inspiration, but in spite of him and everything he’s done to try to take me down.
“So he’s come back to sort of wave the WWE flag after 10 years of being gone, where, like I said, he tried to tear down what we were doing. Now, he’s sort of like, yay, I’m back. Look at me. And I don’t really appreciate that, so I’m gonna try to punch him in his face here in a few days.”
Seth Rollins believes the Netflix move is the future of the industry
Rollins also took a moment to plug the RAW debut on Netflix, calling it the biggest step forward in the history of the industry.
“I mean, it’s going to be huge,” Seth Rollins said. “This is, without a doubt, the biggest step forward in the history of our industry. That’s not an understatement. We’re off cable for the first time in 30 years, going to streaming, the biggest streaming network on the planet. It’s going to be incredible. I’m really excited about this. This is for the future of our industry. This is as big as it gets.”
