R-Truth Addresses A Possible Heel Turn In WWE

Would R-Truth turn heel again?

WWE fans have widely known R-Truth as a fun-loving, comedic babyface during his second run with the company. In April 2011, however, R-Truth showed a more aggressive side when he attacked John Morrison and subsequently turned heel. From there, the former United States Champion notably feuded with John Cena and formed a tag team with another hot heel, The Miz. While memorable, Truth’s run as a heel quickly came to an end by December 2011, when he betrayed the Miz and aligned himself with Kofi Kingston shortly thereafter.

During a recent appearance on Insight With Chis Van Vliet, Truth addressed the possibility of him being a heel once again in WWE.

“There’s a part of me that I do want to turn heel, I think the selfish part just for people to see me as this heel,” Truth said. “I think a couple generations have just known me to be R-Truth, the fun guy, the comedic guy. A lot of people haven’t seen that side of me that that still can be brought out.”

“… The selfish part of me would love to turn heel and be a heel, but the majority of me is like, I could never be a heel,” he continued. “People would think it’s cool if I did something bad. If I did something heelish, they would think it’s cool. I smoked a cigarette, and they thought that was the coolest thing on TV. To be a heel you have to get that real, genuine hatred heel heat. Mine would be more of like, they will want me to bash somebody’s head in. Selfishly, I would love to see it one time, but I don’t have to.”

Currently, Truth finds himself in a storyline with Pete Dunne, whom he consistently refers to as Butch, a former ring name. This week, the two were initially slated to faceoff on WWE Raw. A pre-match attack from Dunne, however, prevented the match from ever officially starting.
