EC3 On Losing NWA Title To Thom Latimer: I Cultivate Greatness

EC3 looks back on his reign as the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and comments on losing the title to Thom Latimer.

EC3 held the title for over a year; he beat Tyrus to win the gold at NWA 75 in August 2023. He then reigned supreme for 370 days.

Speaking with SlamWrestling.net, EC3 reflected on his title run.

“I had the World Heavyweight Championship for over a year,” he said. “I defended it over 70 times on four different continents. I’ve been quite busy.”

Among other highlights, EC3 defended the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at an All Japan Pro Wrestling event. He noted that this was a special experience, as the title hadn’t been defended in Japan in years.

“All Japan’s a historic company. I mean, to bring the NWA World championship back, man, I think it was over 20 years since it was back in All Japan before I brought it back there,” he said. “I mean, Japan’s awesome. “Great people, great culture, great fans, great competition, great food, great women. I have a type, but it was awesome to represent the NWA and represent America over in Japan, and [I] look forward to going back.”

EC3 also discussed losing the title to Thom Latimer at NWA 76. He stated that he cultivated greatness.

“As I said, I cultivate greatness. I bring the absolute best out of everybody,” he said. “But what’s different about him is that everything I’ve done to him over two years, everything I’ve said to him, he finally listened to [it] and it clicked. And guess what happened? It worked out.”
