Another NJPW star’s contract is set to expire soon.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) previously reported that IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Kevin Knight’s contract was set to expire in the next few days. In an update, Sapp reports that TJP, also known as TJ Perkins, will see his NJPW contract expire soon as well. Sapp cites sources who say that they hope to keep TJP. These sources also said that they have actively been negotiating.
TJP has been with NJPW since 2019. He has won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship three times. He is also a former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, and he won the Cruiserweight Classic. Additionally, he is a former TNA X-Division Champion. TJP is set to challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 19 on January 4.
