Tony Khan shares his thoughts on AEW and WWE holding shows in the same city and on the same night.
December 28 was an eventful night in Orlando, Florida. The city hosted both a WWE house show and the AEW Worlds End pay-per-view.
Tony Khan was asked about the situation by Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel at the AEW Worlds End post-show media scrum. He responded by briefly noting that it was great for the city of Orlando, the fans, and the wrestling business.
“It’s great for the city of Orlando with two major pro wrestling events happening on the same night,” Tony Khan said. “There were thousands and thousands of fans at both shows. We had a capacity crowd here, this was so great being here. I think that for us and the community, it was great to have such an amazing support from the fans.
“It shows how strong worldwide pro wrestling, particularly here in the United States is, to have in one major American city, with two promotions running head-to-head on the same night, to have two great crowds. I know our fans here were awesome, and it was a great show tonight, thanks to the Orlando fans. “
