WWE SmackDown Viewership Increases On 12/27, Demo Also Rises

WWE SmackDown saw an increase in viewership on December 27.

According to Programming Insider, SmackDown averaged 1.568 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.45 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode when an average of 1.326 million viewers tuned in. The demo also rose from last week‘s episode (0.37 rating in the same demographic).

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Bianca Belair, Naomi, and Bayley defeating Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, and Candice LaRae in a six-woman tag match.

RAW Superstar Sami Zayn picked up a victory over Carmelo Hayes via disqualification when the New Bloodline interfered.

Elsewhere on the show, Chelsea Green held a championship celebration for becoming the first Women’s United States Champion at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

In the closing segment of the evening, a ladder match between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Championship was set up for the Royal Rumble.
