Diamond Dallas Page Says He Should Have Beaten Goldberg

Diamond Dallas Page says he should have beaten Goldberg in WCW.

Page became one of WCW’s top stars in the late 1990s, as did Goldberg. Though they clashed multiple times, Page never beat Goldberg in a singles bout. They memorably faced each other at Halloween Havoc, and in hindsight, some fans have argued that Page should have been the one who ended Goldberg’s undefeated streak.

Speaking on DDP’s Gauntlet, Diamond Dallas Page looked back on his feud with Goldberg and said that he felt that he should have beaten him.

“I personally feel, I should have beat Goldberg,” Page said. “Not me, Diamond Dallas Page should’ve of, because it would have been untarnished for Bill. It would have been believable because [The Diamond Cutter] was the murder move. He could have taken back the next night. That is what it is.” (H/t Fightful)

DDP Compares Chris Jericho To Ric Flair

In a previous interview with Steven Muehlhausen of DAZN, Diamond Dallas Page praised Chris Jericho and compared him to Ric Flair.

“To me, Chris Jericho is the most over guy in professional wrestling,” he said. “He’s Ric Flair. He’s Ric Flair now. He’s got 30 years, he’s still on top, he continues to reinvent himself, and he can still work ass off. They’re singing his song. That’s got to be the greatest compliment ever. To me, it’s the greatest entrance in wrestling because the people are so involved with it.”
