Tony Khan says fans will have to stay tuned when asked about Ricky Starks‘ status in AEW.
Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Ricky Starks has been absent from AEW programming since March 2024. He has confirmed that he has not been injured, and Tony Khan previously said that he was still under contract. In recent months, Starks has taken a few bookings on the independent scene.
During the AEW Worlds End media call, Jon Alba asked Tony Khan about Ricky Starks’ status and whether he foresaw him being a part of AEW’s future. He noted that fans would have to stay tuned.
“People have to stay tuned to see who’s gonna be a part of the Fight for the Fallen and the simulcast, and it remains to be seen,” Khan said. “We’ve got a great roster here, and we’ve got one of our best pay-per-view lineups for Worlds End. As for who’s gonna be at the mother of all simulcasts, that remains to be seen.”
Starks’ AEW contract reportedly runs in 2025, as an option year was picked up, per Fightful Select.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Ricky Starks will return to AEW programming.
