Chelsea Green is gracing Tampa with her presence on Friday night.
Green announced on social media that she will be on Friday night’s episode of SmackDown, which takes place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. WWE didn’t post its customary preview for this week’s episode of SmackDown, but Green apparently took things into her own hands.
Sitting in a makeup chair, Green announced she plans on having a celebration on tonight’s show. She also lamented that it should’ve happened sooner, if not for her busy schedule.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it is your youngest-ever, richest-ever, most tannest ever, longest-reigning United States Women’s Champion in history,” Chelsea Green said. “And honestly, this should have happened a lot sooner, but you know, I’m the champ, places to go, famous people to see.
“Tonight, live in the flesh, I will grace you with my presence at the first-ever United States Women’s Championship celebration. Say it with me, people — SAY IT WITH ME, PEOPLE,” she yelled at her beauty team. “Red, white and GREEN.”
Nick Aldis posted a video, confirming multiple segments on Friday’s show. He announced a tag team match featuring Bianca Belair, Naomi and Bayley against Candice LeRae, Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax. Aldis also confirmed that he “allocated some time” to Green on tonight’s show… and may God help us all. (His words, not ours — long may she reign!)
Aldis also said he’ll address Kevin Owens’ attack on Cody Rhodes at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Booker T believes in Chelsea Green
On the latest episode of The Hall of Fame Podcast, Booker T praised Chelsea Green’s big title win at Saturday Night’s Main Event and said it was well deserved.
“You just hit it on the head. She deserves it,” Booker T said. “It goes back to that saying, do the job, and do the job to the best of your ability until something else comes along. That’s what Chelsea’s been doing. She’s just been going out, doing the job every single night, to the best of her ability, win or lose.
“It hasn’t been about that. It’s been about her going out and performing at the highest level she possibly could every single night. If everybody adopted that same sentiment, they would put themselves in a better place, they would put themselves in a better position to win, more importantly than anything.
“That’s what this business is about. Everybody can’t be on top at the same time. But if you’re doing your job, you’re putting yourself in a position to perhaps one day be on top. That’s the only thing you can really ask for.”
