MJF is ready for his close-up.
Netflix released the teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2. The movie is a direct sequel to Adam Sandler’s classic 1996 film Happy Gilmore. In the film, MJF reportedly plays Gordie Gilmore, one of Happy’s sons.
“Sorry I wasn’t around much for you dorks,” MJF wrote on Twitter. “I was kinda busy. #ThankMeLater #happygilmore2”
The “Salt of the Earth” can be briefly seen in the trailer, participating in a family huddle shown briefly at the 0:14 mark of the trailer:
MJF missed time from AEW to film the role, and was written off of television following a storyline attack after AEW All Out. He is now back on AEW programming and will face Adam Cole at AEW Worlds End on December 28.
MJF isn’t the only actor in the film with a pro wrestling connection, however, as Bad Bunny is also featured in the film. Bad Bunny plays Happy’s caddy and is shown in the opening shot of the clip wearing a red Tour Championship caddy’s vest.
Happy Gilmore 2 is set to debut on Netflix in 2025.
More details on MJF’s upcoming movies

Stranglehold also has a connection with the pro wrestling world. Ryan Nemeth and Kayla Becker (fka WWE’s Kayla Braxton) are part of the cast. Nemeth is credited as “Leon’s Dude Terry” while Becker is credited as “Crystal.”
Max will also appear in The Floaters, an upcoming Jewish summer camp comedy from Jackie Tohn starring Seth Green and Aya Cash.
