Saya Kamitani Believes Tam Nakano Has Peaked As A Competitor

Saya Kamitani had some harsh words for her Dream Queendom 2024 opponent Tam Nakano ahead of their highly anticipated championship bout.

At STARDOM‘s biggest annual event of Dream Queendom, Tam Nakano will defend her World of Stardom Championship against her former protégé Saya Kamitani. But since then, they have stood on opposite corners of the squared circle on multiple occasions. They previously competed against one another for the Wonder of Stardom Championship at Dream Queendom 2021. In this encounter, it was Kamitani who came out victorious with the white belt. Now, Tam and Saya look to bring their rivalry to greater heights in the main event of Dream Queendom 2024 for the prestigious World of Stardom Championship.

WrestleZone’s Troy Gonzales spoke with “The Phenex Queen” Saya Kamitani in an interview ahead of her big match. When asked about her perception of Tam Nakano this time around, she mentioned seeing no growth from her former mentor. “She [Tam Nakano] hasn’t changed since back then. If anything, watching her makes me feel like she’s reached her peak, and hit some kind of limit. I think it’s because of the knee injury she suffered last year,” Kamitani says.

Saya Kamitani then emphasized how she has grown since their time together as allies. She says, “I’ve changed. I’ve evolved by joining H.A.T.E., and I’m the only one who can take that belt from Tam Nakano.”

Saya Kamitani will unleash all hatred to capture the World of Stardom belt

At STARDOM’s recent Christmas Eve event in Korakuen Hall, Tam scored a roll-up victory over Saya in tag team action. After the match, Saya addressed the loss stating that she still feels the pain in her left elbow from their previous encounter in the 2023 5 Star Grand Prix. She is now fully determined to unleash all her anger to take the red belt from Tam Nakano at Dream Queendom.
