Winner- Stephanie Vaquer

After the match, Kelani Jordan attack Jade with her own kendo stick. Vaquer grabs Jordan from behind and holds her back while Jade runs away.

Grade: C+

Quick fun, match. Vaquer won, and she should have. There was a bit of sloppiness in the middle that too away from the match. Also, the finish seemed off, but hey. It’s a Cora Jade match, so let’s just take the good with the bad.

Dempsey 0/King 1

Winner and NEW NXT Heritage Cup Champion, Lexis King!

Grade: B

This was one of the best Heritage Cup matches we have had on NXT TV. King is weridly exciting as a good guy, and this situation with Regal tempting him to the darkside is way more entertaining than it has any business being. Regal constantly working against his son, Dempsey is wildly different than what we all expected when Regal returned. Winning a championship via a DQ is always going to be goofy, but here, it made sense.

Fatal Influence (Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jane) w/Fallen Henley vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn

Dawn works over Nyx. Nyx tags in Jayne. Jayne misses a big boot. Dawn crushes Jayen with a running hip attack. Fyre tags in. Dawn traps Jayne in a tarantula. Fyre adds a super kick. Nyx gets a blind tag and surprises Fyre with a sliding leg lariat. Nyx and Jayne work over Fyre. Shawn Spears and his band of misfits are watching the match from backstage.

Shotzi, Gigi Dolan, and Tatum Paxley make their way to ringside to watch the match. Fyre manages to get the tag, Jayne and Fyre knock each other down with stereo headbutts. outside the ring, Nyx and Henley argue with Kayden Carter and Kitana Chance, who also appeared to watch the match. Back in the ring, Jayne goes up top. Dolan pushes Jayne off the top. Dawn and Fyre hit their finish on Jayne for the win.

Winners- Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn

Grade: B

Good tag match. The mess outside the ring didn’t take away from the match, but added to the story they are trying to tell here. Nyx is coming along in the ring and more chances like this will just help her progression. At this point, they should just move Fyre and Dawn back to NXT. At least there they actually get time to work. It’s baffling as to why neither of them seem to chart when it comes to the women’s division. You have them on the roster, USE THEM.

Dion Lennox vs. Ashante “Thee” Adonis

Adonis pushes Lennox. Lennox tosses Adonis high in the air for with a flapjack. Dropkick by Lennox. Adonis goes low on Lennox and takes control. Nikkita Lyons walks down to ringside and cheers on Adonis. Adonis looks confused. Lennox lands a running powerslam. Lyons puts Adonis’ foot on the bottom rope to break the pin. Adonis tells Lyons he doesn’t need her help. Lennox rolls up Adonis. Adonis reverses it into a rolls up of his own for the win.

Winner- Ashante “Thee” Adonis

After the match, Lyons raises Adonis’ hand. Adonis looks annoyed.

Grade: C+

Your mileage my vary on romance angles, but this was a good TV match. This story is funny on so many levels. For those of us who grew up around people (the characters) of Adnois and Lyons seeing them be paired together is art imitating some of the funniest parts of life. If they air a segment of Adonis getting Lyons to buy him a PS5 with her tax return, this writer will pee himself laughing.

Christmas Chaos 4-Way Tag Team Match: No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne & Tavion Heights) vs. Hank and Tank (Hank Walker & Tank Ledger) vs. OTM (Bronco Nima & Lucien Price) vs. The D’Angelo Family (Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo & Luca Crusifino)

This is a tornado tag match, so chaos reigns as everyone brawls. Stacks and Crusifino hit Hank in the balls with a bowling ball. Borne and Heights put Stacks through a table. A guy dressed as Santa ringside hits Tony D’Angleo with a 187 DDT. It’s Ridge Holland! Back in the ring, OTM hits their finish on Crusifino for the win.

Winners and NEW Number One Contenders, OTM!

Grade: C

Grabage match with no real direction or point. Any of these teams could win and we all know it won’t matter. Axiom and Frazer’s stranglehold over the tag titles will be never ending. The rapture will happen before they drop the tag titles.

Everyone has a Gripe!

NXT Champion Trick Williams wants to talk about last week. Oba Femi interrupts. Femi doesn’t want to talk about the past. It’s all about what happens next. Eddy Thrope is out next. Everyone complains. Femi wants Thorpe to go away. Thrope claims he didn’t get pinned last week. Williams suggest a triple threat match. Williams knows he doesn’t have to get pinned to lose, but he’s going to prove the haters wrong by beating both Femi and Thorpe at the same time. Femi thinks Williams is selling wolf tickets; Williams wants to make it a triple threat so he can escape Femi. NXT GM Ava walks out on the stage and says she’s going to give Williams what he wants and books the triple threat match at New Year’s Evil. A brawl breaks out. Femi drops Williams. Thorpe escapes a powerbomb from Femi.

Grade: D

This is just silly. Femi is getting penalized because the referees’ last week were idiots? Make it make sense. There are two weeks between now and New Year’s Evil. Thorpe can get his title shot next week. Muddying the waters with Thrope is a scary proposition. There is a chance he could actually in if its a triple threat. That’s not something anyone wants… Good guys making silly choices to prove a point is one of the worst troupes in wrestling. Putting yourself at a disadvantage when defending your championship is just asinine.

WWE NXT Review:

This episode of NXT was a pretty mixed bag. While there were standout moments, like the compelling Heritage Cup match and the solid women’s tag bout, the show was weighed down by sloppy finishes, questionable booking decisions, and segments that lacked any and all logic. The storytelling in certain matches, such as Lexis King’s rise and the development of Fatal Influence, provided enough intrigue to make the show somewhat passable. However, inconsistent pacing and underwhelming main-event storytelling dragged the overall quality down. The booking of Trick Williams and the NXT Championship should be studied. It’s illogical.
