Mustafa Ali thinks there are multiple paths to a potential WWE return.
Ali had a memorable WWE run. He was featured on WWE 205 Live, and he later moved to the main roster. Ali notably was revealed as the leader of Retribution. He also had a brief run in NXT before he was released in September 2023. Since his release, he had a stint in TNA, and he has wrestled for various companies, including NJPW.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Mustafa Ali was asked about potentially returning to WWE.
“I think there’s multiple paths, yeah,” Mustafa Ali said. “And the thing is there’s good relations there. The thing with them moving to Netflix is very, very interesting, because it just opens things. I don’t know how much the show is going to change as far as dynamic, as far as rating, as far as what they’re okay with.”
Mustafa Ali On His ‘Be The Life’ Character
Ali previously reflected on his “Be the Light” character in an interview with Wrestlezone’s Managing Editor Bill Pritchard. He noted that he wanted to be a shining light in the world.
“But the hard hill to climb, the thing that I wanted to do was, ‘Hey, can I truly become a fan favorite? Despite what I perceived as an obstacle.’ So, the big thing was, how do I present a character that is relatable to people that might not feel like they relate to me? So, while brainstorming, while coming up… ‘Well, what do you want to be? I kinda want to be a shining light in the world,” Ali said. “I want to be someone’s light in the dark.’ And I kept saying stuff like that because, people would talk about, ‘Oh you are so positive,’ and this and that.”
