It wasn’t a great night for Matt Cardona at Ring of Honor Final Battle last night.
Friday night at Final Battle, Matt Cardona challenged Chris Jericho for the Ring of Honor World Championship. The finish saw Cardona get hit with the title by Bryan Keith, which led to him losing the match. But the loss wasn’t the worst part of Cardona’s evening.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), Cardona suffered an ankle injury during his match with Jericho and had to be helped to the back following the match.
Cardona was seen on crutches following the show, but Sapp states the hope is that he’ll be okay and that the injury isn’t serious.
In regards to his contract status with All Elite Wrestling, Sapp confirms that Cardona isn’t under contract with the company.
