NJPW stars are set to challenge for the ROH World Tag Team Championship at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
At ROH Final Battle, The sons of Texas (Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara) defended the ROH World Tag Team Championship against The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) in a Texas Bullrope Match. Rhodes and Guevara emerged victorious, but they had new challengers by the end of the show.
In a video message, SHO and Yoshinobu Kanemaru appeared in a video message and challenged Guevara and Rhodes to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championships against them at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty
SHO and Kanemaru are both former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champions with different partners. SHO won the titles five times with YOH. Kanemaru is a six-time champion.
