Big E Says He Still Hasn’t Been Cleared For In-Ring Return

Big E says he has still not been cleared to compete.

Former WWE Champion Big E has not wrestled since March 2022, as he fractured two cervical vertebrae, C1 and C6. He has appeared on WWE pre-show panels and other programming, but he remained absent from WWE television until the December 2 episode of WWE RAW. There, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on him. The appearance led some fans to wonder whether Big E could return to the ring in the near future.

Big E recently spoke on The Mike Broomhead Show, and when he was asked about his injury, he said that he still hadn’t been cleared. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)

“I broke my neck, two and a half years ago, in three places, including my C1 in two places. I still haven’t been cleared,” Big E said. “Thankfully, I feel great and don’t have any issues, nothing like that. Didn’t need surgery. I was in a hard collar for three months. There are very real risks. We had a suplex that went wrong and I’ve been out since. I’m grateful to have no issues, no pain, nothing like that,” he said.

WrestleZone will provide more information about Big E and his status as it becomes available.
