Dominik Mysterio: My WrestleMania 39 Entrance Will Live Forever

Dominik Mysterio has great memories of his incredible entrance at WrestleMania 39.

The WWE Superstar wrestled against his own father at WrestleMania in 2023. It was one of the year’s most anticipated bouts, ever since Dominik Mysterio turned on Rey Mysterio at Clash at the Castle a year prior.

The younger Mysterio made an impressive entrance at the SoFi Stadium. A video showing him being released from the video was followed by Dominik Mysterio being driven to the ring in a police van in what was an all-time great WrestleMania entrance.

Dominik Mysterio recently appeared on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast. He spoke about the entrance, revealing he was initially disappointed at not being able to walk down the huge ramp like the other wrestlers.

However, the more he considered it, the more Dominik Mysterio loved the idea. Having a special entrance in just his second WrestleMania was a huge honor and he thinks it’s an entrance that will live forever.

Dominik Mysterio On His WrestleMania 39 Entrance

“It came about in such a crazy way because I didn’t know about it until two weeks before Mania. I remember we finished a Monday Night Raw and Triple H pulled me aside. He goes, ‘Hey, have you heard about the entrance we have planned for you at Mania?’”

“I was like, ‘I have no idea what you’re talking about. No one said anything to me.’ He goes, ‘Oh, okay. Tomorrow morning, you’ll fly to New York and film something for Mania.’”

“I was like, ‘Okay, cool.’ Then I show up, and there’s this massive, empty prison where I ended up filming. It was this whole thing. I remember the day of the show, once the video package and everything came out, my first thought was, ‘Man, I’m a bit bummed out because I wish I could have done the big ramp—the big Mania entrance.’”

“But the more I sat and thought about it, I realized, ‘No, screw that! This is special. I have a unique entrance for myself.’ Everyone goes down the ramp, but not everyone gets a memorable entrance like this.”

“On my second WrestleMania, to have my own entrance with the paddy wagon, the handcuffs, and the video package—it was honestly a huge blessing to just be part of that. I really feel like that entrance is going to live forever.”
