Sami Zayn On Reuniting With OG Bloodline: There’s Something Magic About It

Sami Zayn was thrilled at getting the chance to work with the Bloodline again.

The Canadian’s connection with the Samoan Bloodline has been a key storyline since early 2022.

Sami Zayn officially joined the group in April that year, gradually earning their trust and becoming an integral part of the faction. Despite not being Samoan, Zayn stood out as a fan-favorite, often causing his stablemates to break character with his antics.

Despite their history, Zayn aligned with the Bloodline once again at Survivor Series. He played a pivotal role in helping them defeat Solo Sikoa’s iteration of the group in War Games, alongside CM Punk.

Sami Zayn recently spoke with In The Kliq, where he discussed what it was like reuniting with the OG Bloodline again for Survivor Series.

“You know what? It was pretty great because there really is just something magic about appearing on-screen with those guys. There’s just this weird chemistry. Maybe it’s the interaction of all our personalities and how we approach things.”

“I remember the first week we were back on screen with each other. I mean, I’ve been on screen with Jey a fair bit—we’ve both been on Raw—but then that first week where Jimmy, Jey, and I were all on TV together, it was like a thread running throughout the night.”

“You see me and Jimmy, and it’s kind of tense. Then Jey shows up, you know, whatever, and he kind of blows up on me. Later, you see Jey and Jimmy together, but Jey feels bad, and Jimmy says he’ll smooth it out. Then later, you see Jimmy in the parking lot, and oh my goodness, he sees me talking to Solo.”

Sami Zayn Calls Bloodline Reunion A Treat

“It’s just this ride—it unfolds over one night. And man, when we were doing that, I just remember thinking, Ah, we’re back! You know? Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Old-school Bloodline. Compelling television that takes you on a ride—you think it’s going one way, then it takes a right turn, then a left. What’s going to happen next?”

“I think the Bloodline story did that better than maybe any story I can think of offhand. So, to be a part of it is an honor. And to be able to run it back a little bit recently with War Games? It’s just… I don’t know. It feels great.”

“Usually, when things are done, they’re just done. So, to get a second crack at it? It’s a treat.”
