Ring announcer Jade Chung is leaving TNA.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that, per sources, Chung informed company officials over the weekend that she would not be signing a new deal, and she would be exiting. Johnson writes that Chung’s current deal is believed to expire at the end of 2024. The report notes that TNA had approached Chung about a new contract.
Johnson also writes that Jade Chung was said to have been saying her goodbyes at TNA’s TV tapings on December 14.
In a tweet, Chung’s husband, Josh Alexander, seemingly commented on her departure.
“I’m a very lucky man to have someone who shares & understands this passion for pro wrestling. My @JadeChung11 busted her ass these past couple years taking on a new role as the TNA ring announcer. She embodied everything I think of when we talk about why the locker room is such a strong unit. Always looking out for others & going the extra mile whenever it’s needed. I’m proud of her.”
Chung’s departure comes just a few months before Josh Alexander is set to enter free agency in February.
Chung had been TNA’s ring announcer since December 2023. She was named the new ring announcer after David Penzer wrapped up with the company.
