A Lucha Gauntlet Match has been confirmed for NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling confirmed that the January 5 event will now include a Lucha Gauntlet Match that will include CMLL and NJPW talent. The participants were not named.
The announcement, courtesy of NJPW’s website, is as follows:
“Set for Wrestle Dynasty is a special NJPW vs CMLL lucha gauntlet match. In this matchup, up to eight participants, four from New Japan and four from CMLL, will enter the ring at one minute intervals, and the first pinfall will end the bout. Who will be in this dramatic and high speed encounter?”
NJPW also confirmed that Mercedes Moné will defend the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship against Mina Shirakawa. Shirakawa answered Moné’s challenge at NJPW Strong Style Evolved. Shirakawa will also put her RevPro British Women’s Championship on the line.
