One of the most popular female wrestlers in the world of professional wrestling is former Wonder of STARDOM Champion Mina Shirakawa. In the past couple of months, she has been featured regularly on All Elite Wrestling.
The former Future of STARDOM Champion entered the promotion as one of the closest friends of current AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May. Now, she has become one of the biggest rivals of May. Last week at the AEW Dynamite’s Winter is Coming Special Episode, Shirakawa wrestled her former best friend for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Despite her efforts, Mina Shirakwa ended up losing the match and The Glamour Mariah May’s championship reign continued. Her next challenger is former AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa.
Recently, while speaking to Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp, Mina Shirakawa reflected on her time in AEW. Shirakawa shared that she is happy to be a part of AEW. She is also elated that the fans know who she is and they cheer every time her music plays. The former Future of STARDOM Champion also revealed that she would love to be a part of AEW much longer if she gets the opportunity to do so.
“Yeah. So, [the] first time to wrestle in ROH is [the] debut for American Wrestling ring. Maybe first time [the] fans saw me, ‘Oh, who is she?’ Maybe that they know that STARDOM. The name of STARDOM. But now, my music hits, many fans [are] cheering [for] me. And I heard backstage. ‘Oh! I am so happy.’ And yeah, I wanted to be here more and more,” Mina Shirakawa said.
