The NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championship changed hands at NJPW Strong Style Evolved on December 15.
Heading into Sunday’s show, the Grizzled Young Veterans were barely a month into their reign as the champions, which began when they dethroned TMDK at NJPW Fighting Spirit Unleashed. They put their titles on the line against Jorel Nelson and Royce Isaacs at NJPW Strong Style Evolved, and the challengers pulled off the upset. In doing so, they won their first titles in NJPW.
West Coast Wrecking Crew did not have long to celebrate. Rocky Romero came out after the match and issued a challenge for NJPW Battle in the Valley, as he named YOH as his partner for a title bout against the duo. West Coast Wrecking Crew seemingly responded, as they attacked Romero and left him laid out.
