Mina Shirakawa wants to defeat Mercedes Moné and win gold in both NJPW and AEW.
STARDOM star Mina Shirakawa has competed on AEW programming multiple times in recent months. She will be in action at NJPW Strong Style Evolved on December 15. There, Mercedes Moné will defend the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship against Hazuki.
Speaking with Steven Muelhausen for The Takedown on SI, Mina Shirakawa commented on her loss to AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May.
“I have no choice but to acknowledge her (laughs). So she became a star that I believe that must have taken incredible hard work. I lost. I was so shocked that I respect her.”
Shirakawa also made it clear that she was still determined to win gold in AEW.
” I have to change the losing part,” Shirakawa said. “I have to be a champion for AEW”,
Per Muelhausen, Shirakawa said that she is not under contract to AEW, as she is under a deal with STARDOM. Still, Shirakawa wants to beat Mercedes Moné for the gold.
“Mercedes and I have been friends for five years,” Mina Shirakawa said. “We have never wrestled. I want to wrestle her for New Japan Strong belt. “Mone is TBS and New Japan double champion. That’s ok. My dream is (the) double champion of New Japan strong and AEW Women’s World Champion.”
WrestleZone will have coverage of NJPW Strong Style Evolved as it airs on December 15.
