Gabe Kidd Reflects On His Success In 2024, Names His Goals For 2025

Gabe Kidd has his sights set on some major goals for 2025.

Kidd has had a breakout run in 2024, as he has won the NJPW STRONG Openweight Championship and defended it against challengers like Eddie Kingston and Lio Rush. He will defend the gold against Ryohei Oiwa at NJPW Strong Style Evolved on December 15.

Speaking on Unlikely with Adtrian Hernandez, Gabe Kidd was asked to comment on his goals for 2025.

“The goal is always the same, the IWGP Heavyweight Title,” Kidd said. “That’s what I want. That’s what my whole life has been leading up to. So that’s what it is, global domination and the IWGP Title.”

Kidd was also asked to reflect on his success in 2024. He stated that he went into the year determined to prove his doubters wrong.

“It means they didn’t put me on the Wrestle Kingdom card this year, and I went in with this year, I said, I’m gonna show these f*ckers, these snot-nosed, slimy little f*ckers,” Gabe Kidd said. “I stayed during a global pandemic for you, and you can’t find a match for me. So it lit a fire underneath me, and I said, you’re gonna see by the end of the year. This is the last match of the year, so we’re going out with a bang.”
