WWE Women’s United States Champion Chelsea Green says she’s in the history books where she belongs.
At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Chelsea Green beat Michin in the finals of a tournament to crown the inaugural champion. In doing so, she won her first singles title in WWE.
In a digital exclusive, Chelsea Green commented on her victory.
“I always knew this was gonna happen, so I know you’re surprised, and that’s so cute,” Green said. “But I’m not. I’ve been doing this for 10 years, I worked my entire life to be an overnight success, and this is my time. This is my night. Red, white, and green.
Chelsea Green was also asked to share her thoughts on holding a title that had been associated with many legends. She stated that her time was now.
“I would say, ‘Duh.’ I’m in the history books, where I belong,” Green said. “I should have been there three years ago, but I was released. I should have been there 2015, but I wasn’t hired, so now’s the time. Now’s the freaking time.”
Green also said she was going to Disneyland to celebrate.
