Chaos erupted following the end of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, with Kevin Owens attacking Cody Rhodes and then getting into an altercation with Triple H.
After Rhodes beat Owens to retain his Undisputed WWE Championship — after hitting a Cross Rhodes on a chair that Owens had brought in — the reigning champion began to celebrate with the crowd, and prepared to get on the mic to address them as the show closed. However, Owens had had enough, and attacked Rhodes from behind.
In footage filmed by various audience members inside Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, Owens picked up Rhodes and then hit a package piledriver on the superstar. A stunned crowd watched on as Owens stood there, then grabbed Rhodes’ new winged eagle championship and walked off.
As Owens got to the top of the ramp, he began posing with the belt and bowing to the audience, when Triple H came out and slapped the belt out of his hand. Owens picked it up and both he and Triple H began screaming at each other, with the pair shoving one another until they were separated by officials. It was a chaotic ending to the night, and with Monday Night RAW coming up, it’ll be interesting to see the fallout from the show.
