Gage Goldberg has faith in his father to win his retirement match regardless of who he stands across from in 2025.
Son of WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, Gage Goldberg recently sat down with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda. When asked if he thinks at his father’s age he can defeat someone like Gunther, Gage said he doesn’t believe age should be a factor when it comes to his dad.
“Well, I know he’s still got it,” Gage Goldberg said. “So he’s got a little while to prepare. I know he works his butt off in the gym every day. He’s getting his cardio up. I already know that he’s gonna be ready for that fight 100%. And I don’t really know if age can be a factor with my dad, because he’s just got a switch in his head that when it’s flipped, it’s just game over.”
When asked if he thinks his father would be willing to enter the 2025 Royal Rumble to get a title shot at WrestleMania 41, Gage believes his father would be down for that.
“Yes, sir. I mean, he could for sure,” Gage Goldberg said. “It hasn’t really come up in our — he hasn’t told me that yet. But he’d definitely do it. He’d be down for anything, if they tell him, ‘Okay, you’re gonna fight this guy.’ He’s gonna do it, 100%. Go win the Royal Rumble? He’s gonna do it. He’s holding his weight 100%. It just depends, the spot you come out really affects it, but if he gets a good spot, he’s holding his weight. He’s kicking people’s ass.”
