Two matches have been announced for the December 20 episode of WWE SmackDown.
As announced on the December 13 episode, Bianca Belair and Naomi will defend the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship against WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax and Candice LeRae. Naomi offered to fill in for Jade Cargill as Belair’s partner on Friday. Cargill was attacked backstage on the November 22 episode of WWE SmackDown. She has been sidelined ever since. Nick Aldis agreed to let Naomi take her place. Jax and LeRae have had their sights set on the titles recently.
Plus, Johnny Gargano will face Alex Shelley. Gargano turned heel during the tag team title match between #DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns on the December 6 episode. There, Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa beat Shelley and Alex Sabin to win the gold.
Finally, Braun Strowman will appear on The Grayson Waller Effect. Strowman made his return on Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown and beat Carmelo Hayes. Grayson Waller and Austin Theory then invited him to be on their show. Strowman had been sidelined since September due to a torn groin. He returned to the ring in a dark match in November.
