Bayley Credits Three WWE Veterans For Teaching Her How To Become A Locker Room Leader

Bayley always tries to pay it forward and gives credit to those who helped her become the WWE Superstar she is today.

SmackDown Superstar Bayley was a recent guest on Going Ringside. When asked how the locker room has changed over the last ten years that she’s been part of WWE, Bayley credits Natalya, Tamina, and Naomi for helping her learn things the right way and turning her into a locker room leader.

“Yeah, it’s really crazy,” Bayley admitted. “I think that I was super lucky to come in at a time where I don’t know if you remember this, but when Sasha, Becky, and Charlotte got called up, I was still in NXT for a year. And I think even that year in NXT taught me a little bit about leadership, because at that point I was a champion, and I had been there the longest, so I got a little bit of like, okay, now I could help these girls, or I can have these girls first matches with them.

“So I learned some there. But I really think that year of me not being on RAW and SmackDown helped introduce the NXT girls without me having to do it. They did the hard part, kind of where, now when NXT girls were coming in, it was like the locker room — not that you guys weren’t welcoming, but it was like, oh, we know that they’re here for the same reasons we are. They kind of fluffed the feathers for me in that way.

Natalya, Naomi, and Tamina took care of Bayley on her first WWE UK tour

“But I always give credit to Natalya, to Tamina, and to Naomi for my first UK tour experience was with those girls. I was still in NXT, but the way that they treated me with such respect, they treated me on the same level as them. They took care of me, making sure like, oh, you put your bags here, or you could sit here on the bus, or we go to catering after this.

“Little things like that really stuck with me, and I just try to do those little things for any of the new women in our locker room, whether they come from NXT or whether you’re Jade Cargill and come from another company like I always remember how I was treated, and try to pay that forward whether it sticks with them or not. That’s on them, but I think that we have such a healthy locker room right now. And I’m so lucky to be a part of it.”
