A new report dismisses rumors about Zelina Vega following the December 9 episode of WWE RAW.
Vega competed in the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament on Monday’s show. After the match, Vega seemingly waved goodbye to the crowd, leading some fans to wonder if she was leaving.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reports that Zelina Vega is under contract with WWE for “several more years”. Her loss on Monday did not mark her exit. Fans often voice their support for Vega on social media, and many were disappointed when she lost on Monday.
Vega is currently competing in the WWE Women’s Speed Championship Tournament. She is set to face Natalya in the quarterfinals.
Zelina Vega On Not Holding Onto What Ifs
During a previous appearance on Busted Open Radio, Vega discussed her mindset and explained that she would not be happy if she held onto what ifs.
“I feel like I’ve learned to, over time, accept that that’s the case where you know you you have a cycle where you’re in it and you’re doing great, and everyone loves it. It doesn’t matter how much you put into it, eventually it’s gonna roll over,” Zelina Vega said. “And I’ve just gotten so used to that being for me, anyway, shorter, unfortunately, in timeframe.
“So anytime I’m given anything, I’m like, okay — when we did Fighting with My Family, I remember thinking like, if this is the closest thing that I get to a title or anything like that, I want to appreciate it. So once we went off the air, and once we stopped filming and everything, I just stood in the middle of the ring, holding it forever…..I feel like, if I’m holding on to these what ifs and hopefullys and whatever I’m never going to be happy.”
