Why did Bobby Lashley decide to sign with AEW following his WWE departure earlier this year?
All Elite Wrestling‘s Bobby Lashley recently spoke with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed. When asked why he decided to join the company, Lashley made it clear that being able to continue The Hurt Syndicate (formerly The Hurt Business) was his primary reason.
“The reason is The Hurt Syndicate,” Bobby Lashley said. “We wanted an opportunity to run with the group, and Tony Khan gave us that opportunity in AEW. We didn’t get the opportunity to show what we really wanted to do before. Now we do. The possibilities and ideas about what we can do in AEW, that keeps me up at night.”
Lashley intends to make the most of this opportunity and while he’s not asking to be AEW World Champion, that’s his long-term goal.
“I’m not asking for anything more than an opportunity, and that’s what Tony Khan gave me,” Bobby Lashley said. “I’m definitely not asking to be world champ. Of course, that’s where I want to be, but that’s not how I approach it. I don’t go around telling people I am going to be champ. I make it so I am undeniable.”
