Ryan Leaf gave Lexis King a pep talk on the December 10 episode of WWE NXT.
Leaf appeared backstage on Tuesday’s show, and he told Lexis King that he was an inspiration, and he noted that they both took their journeys in a very public way. He said that this is what made King so much more relatable.
Leaf stated that everyone got to see King follow his path, and he did not decide what the story was when he started. Instead, he would decide that when he figured it out. Leaf encouraged King by saying that he could make a great ending, and he was excited to see what he did next. King then thanked Leaf for his advice.
Ryan Leaf is widely considered to be one of the biggest busts in NFL history. He was picked second in the 1998 NFL Draft behind Peyton Manning. Manning went on to have a legendary career, while Leaf notoriously struggled. Leaf’s career quarterback rating was 50.0.
