Mariah May has done a lot of despicable things since turning heel earlier this year, but slapping her own mother is close to the top of the list.
All Elite Wrestling Women’s World Champion Mariah May recently sat down with Renee Paquette for AEW Close-Up. When asked why she slapped her mother earlier this year at AEW All In, May said it was because her mom was trying to make it about herself when it’s supposed to be about her.
“My mom was trying to make it about herself,” Mariah May said. “She was there front row in her little Mariah May shirt like, you know, trying to squeeze a little tear out. It’s not about her, it’s all about Mariah. AEW is all about Mariah. I don’t care about my family. That’s my private thing. I don’t care about these people. I care about me.”
May would go on to win her match at All In, defeating Timeless Toni Storm to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship for the first time.
