Kayla Braxton is enjoying not having to ask for permission to do other projects in her post-WWE journey.
Braxton announced her WWE departure in June. Since then, she has discussed how she has been doing other projects. Among others, she worked on a movie. She also started a podcast.
Speaking with Mr. Starks from Covalent TV at WrestleCade 2024, Kayla Braxton was asked to comment on having more freedom to do other projects now that she had left WWE.
“Listen, working with WWE was the biggest blessing. I wouldn’t have the platform that I have right now if it wasn’t for the last eight years working for them,” she said. “But it was damn near impossible to do anything other than wrestling day in and day out.
“So the freedom does feel so freaking good. I don’t have to worry about if I’m gonna be in town to film a project. I don’t have to worry about asking permission, if I’m allowed to do something that might be in competition with the company. It feels really good to wake up every day and just get to do whatever the hell I want to do.”
Kayla Braxton On Her Future
In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Braxton noted that she felt like her time in wrestling was done. She also expressed that she would be open to a potential cameo.
“Yeah, I think so. That’s one thing about our fans too. They think, oh, you leave WWE, you must be going to AEW or Only Fans. It’s like the only two options that they think that you have. I’m like, actually, I’m doing neither. I think wrestling will always be like a love of mine and always be a family of mine,” Becker explained. “But I think I just really didn’t want to pigeonhole myself as a host and a broadcaster and just see what else I can do out there. I mean, there’s always the possibility that maybe I pop back in for a fun cameo or something down the road. But yeah, I think my time is done.”
