Lyra Valkyria has advanced to the next round of the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Tournament.
On the December 9 episode of WWE RAW, Valkyria faced Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile in a first-round match. The three competitors battled back and forth. Vega nearly scored the win with a Code Red, but in the end, Valkyria clinched the victory with the Nightwing.
Here’s how the match broke down, courtesy of our play-by-play:
Nile gets tossed out of the ring. Valkyria and Vega trade pin attempts. 619 by Vega. Nile pulls Vega off the apron and crushes Valkyria with a suplex. After the break, Valkyria and Nile trade pins. Vega breaks one up with a senton off the top. Vega can’t hold either woman down. Nile rolls out of the ring. Vega lands a sliding sunset powerbomb. Nile breaks up Vega’s pin after a meteroa off the top. Nile suplexes Valkyria and Vega at the same time. Valkyria breaks up Vega’s pin after she hit the Code Red. Valkyria hits Nightwing on Nile for the win.
Dakota Kai previously advanced in the tournament by beating Shayna Baszler and Katana Chance. Two first-round matches remain; Zoey Stark will face Raquel Rodriguez and Kayden Carter, while Alba Fyre will clash with Kairi Sane and Natalya. There is currently no word on when the finals of the tournament will be held.

Lyra Valkyria’s WWE Run
Valkyria is a former NXT Women’s Champion. She moved to WWE RAW in the 2024 WWE Draft. Valkyria then made it to the finals of the Queen of the Ring tournament. She also competed in the Women’s Money in the Bank match.
