Another AEW talent has reportedly been pulled from upcoming GCW shows.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that GCW claimed that Willie Mack, who is under AEW contract, has been removed from their shows next weekend. Per Sapp, GCW is under the impression that this stems from the comments that EFFY made about Tony Khan. It was noted that GCW had no shows scheduled that would conflict with these dates.
Update: Sapp wrote that numerous in AEW claimed that Mack was not pulled by them, and at least one communicated this to GCW. Sapp then stated that GCW claimed that they were told that AEW talent relations encouraged Mack to not take the booking. Sapp later pulled the posts until the parties involved could figure out who was keeping who from what.
This comes after AEW talent Ricky Starks was pulled from all scheduled GCW appearances. AEW reportedly made the move after EFFY made derogatory comments about Tony Khan. Starks is still set to compete for House of Glory in January, and he is able to take bookings elsewhere.
The situation with AEW and GCW seemingly softened this past week, as Matt Cardona was revealed as Chris Jericho’s challenger at ROH Final Battle. Cardona appeared on the December 5 episode of ROH on HonorClub and on AEW Rampage the next night.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
