The situation with AEW and Rey Fenix continues to spark controversy, and AEW has opted not to comment on it.
Fenix has not wrestled for AEW since the AEW Collision taping on July 20. He has not had a match since the CMLL event on July 26. AEW reportedly added injury time to Fenix’s deal, extending it into 2025 in the process. His brother and tag team partner, Penta El Zero Miedo, recently entered free agency.
In a tweet on December 9, Rey Fenix wrote, “I needed a doctor and you ignored me for months.”
This post came two days after Fenix wrote, “No one stays in a place where they received inhuman treatment.”
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then wrote that he asked AEW for a comment or statement on Rey Fenix’s claims. He stated that he was told “they’re opting to not comment at this time, and can’t comment on medical claims.”
Rey Fenix has been with AEW since 2019. He is a former AEW World Tag Team Champion and AEW World Trios Champion. He has also held the AEW International Championship and the ROH World Tag Team Championship.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
