Sting On Going Through Tables: I’ve Been Falling Through Stuff For A Long Time

Sting had a remarkable run in AEW, and the legend often wowed fans by diving off balconies and going through tables. Some have thought that his tag team partner, Darby Allin, encouraged him to do it. However, it was the veteran’s idea all along.

Sting made a surprise appearance at AEW All In Texas: Countdown to On Sale and praised Allin. Broadcaster Tony Schiavone joked with Sting about having one more match, where he could jump off a balcony and onto a table.

“There was one time he jumped off, I think it was when we were in Orlando, and he jumped off through a table,” Schiavone said. “I went, ‘What the hell are you doing?’ He said, ‘That one’s for you.’ I said, ‘Okay, thank you very much.”

Darby Allin: That’s All Him

Allin chimed in by saying that people would ask him why he made Sting go through tables. He noted that the legend was 30 years older than him, so it clearly wasn’t peer pressure.

“Everybody keeps saying, ‘Why do you make Sting do this?’ You can’t call it peer pressure, he’s like 30 years older,” Allin said. “That’s all his idea. I never told him to jump off a balcony. That’s all him.”

Sting then said that going through tables was nothing new to him, as he had been falling through stuff for a long time.

“Well, it wasn’t new to me, either,” he said. “You remember Sid Vicious, 6’10, pressed me over his head, threw me out of the ring and to land on the floor or land on a table. It’s not new to me. Come on, I’ve been falling through stuff for a long time. It was for you fans, I promise you that.”
