Kofi Kingston: New Day Is More Focused Than Ever, We’ll Take The WWE Universe By Storm

Kofi Kingston says he and Xavier Woods are reinvigorated following their shocking actions on the December 2 episode of WWE RAW.

Kingston and Woods lashed out at Big E on WWE RAW, and they harshly told him to leave the ring when he tried to help his New Day stablemates.

Speaking with Tim Battle and Eli on the Battleground Podcast, Kofi Kingston commented on turning on Big E.

“To me, when Big E showed up last week, it was too little, too late,” Kofi Kingston said. “If everybody saw what was happening, why didn’t he try to intervene a little bit earlier? It’s not like he hasn’t been at work. He’s been on those premium live events, the pre-shows, been on those, he could have very easily came to us at any point during this deterioration, and he chose to wait all this time. It was just too little, too late.

“So it is what it is. I’m excited for what comes next. I think me and Woods are more focused than ever right now, and there’s a new level of new energy that we’re feeling, and we’re gonna take the WWE Universe by storm.”

Kofi Kingston: It’s A New Day

During the interview, Kingston also commented on how it felt like a “new day” after he and Woods parted with Big E.

“It is a new day,” he said. “I woke up that next day, I posted it on social media, just feeling brand new. I had actually taken a red-eye flight, and as I woke up on the flight, the sun was rising, and it just truly felt like a new day. It was great. I felt like the burden had been lifted from my shoulders. Very energetic, emotional night for everybody involved, but I think it’s full speed ahead, we’re rising from this point forward.”
