Rey Fenix: ‘I Needed A Doctor And You Ignored Me For Months.’

Rey Fenix has continued his vague posting on Twitter with another apparent shot at AEW.

The former AEW Tag Team Champion hasn’t wrestled in any capacity for the company since July. He and his brother Penta El Zero Miedo are rumoured to be making the jump to WWE in the near future. Penta’s contract already expired and could make the move now.

However, due to his vast number of injuries over the past few years, AEW have added time onto Rye Fenix’s contract. This has not gone down well with many people. Rey Fenix included, if his recent Tweets are indeed aimed at Tony Khan.

The masked Mexican star recently Tweeted that he was “ignored” for “months” when he needed a doctor. While he didn’t mention who the “you” in the Tweet was, it is likely he is referring to AEW and Tony Khan.

“I needed a doctor and you ignored me for months.” Rey Fenix said on Twitter.

This isn’t the first time a talent has complained about AEW’s lack of communication following injuries. CM Punk had the same complaint after AEW All Out 2022. However, his situation was different due to the controversial press conference and backstage fight following the event.

While Penta El Zero Miedo is out of contract, Rey Fenix is still employed by AEW. He is speaking out, likely to attempt to force his release so he can join his brother in the WWE.

Rey Fenix has made multiple comments about his treatment in AEW

He also claimed to have been treated inhumanly in another cryptic Tweet, before claiming that he couldn’t talk about the situation due to being under contract.

“No one stays in a place where they received inhumane treatment.” Rey Fenix tweeted out, before adding “Unfortunately, due to contractual issues i cannot speak now, but I will have my time.”.

Update: Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp reached out to AEW for a comment on Rey Fenix’s status and respective accusations. AEW replied and said the company is opting to not comment at the time, and cannot discuss medical claims.
