DIY say they’re the best tag team in the world following their win on WWE SmackDown.
Johnny Gargano turned heel on the December 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, as he kicked Chris Sabin below the belt during the tag team title match between DIY and the Motor City Machine Guns. Gargano and Ciampa then scored the victory to regain the WWE Tag Team Championship.
In a tweet, WWE shared footage of DIY’s comments after the match.
“Best tag team in the world,” Johnny Gargano said. “Whatever it takes. That’s what we said. Just listen to me. There’s my best friend [looks at Ciampa]. There’s my best friend.”
Ciampa chimed in by saying, “The boy’s a genius. The boy’s a genius. I’m the madman, he’s the mastermind. DIY, best tag team alive.”
Gargano also commented on his scheme to get a title shot in the first place, as he noted that he told Nick Aldis that he did not have to worry about Ciampa when the Street Profits were attacked backstage on Friday. He stated that he kept his promise, implying that he was responsible for the attack himself.
With the win, DIY captured the titles for the second time. They previously won the gold by beating A-Town Down Under on the July 5 episode of WWE SmackDown. They were dethroned by The Bloodline on the August 2 episode.
