Ethan Page sparked some buzz with his comments following his loss at WWE NXT Deadline.
Page competed in the Iron Survivor Challenge match at the show. The winner of the match would earn a shot at the NXT Championship. Page was determined to score the win so he could challenge for the NXT Championship, but Oba Femi ultimately emerged victorious.
Page was interviewed after the match, and he noted that it took him 18 years to become the NXT Champion. He stated that he did not know how to get back there. He then said that he “can’t do this”, and he walked away.
In a tweet, Ethan Page shared a clip of his interview and simply wrote, “idk”.
WWE RAW star Karrion Kross seemingly noticed Page’s inner turmoil, as he took to Twitter and told him to pick up the phone.
Ethan Page Is Thankful For Terry Taylor
In an interview with WrestleZone ahead of NXT Deadline, the former NXT Champion praised Terry Taylor, who currently works as a trainer for WWE. He highlighted how helpful Taylor’s advice has been.
“I’m glad you said ‘who’ because I am super-thankful for Terry Taylor. I think his thoughts and my thoughts definitely align, but I’m wrong a lot of the time. And not because he tells me I’m wrong,” Page noted, “but because when I hear him speak, I understand that I’m wrong. I’m just very grateful for the guidance that he is giving on a daily basis and I think it’s very, very helpful to my career. I’m very thankful that we were able to work together and he would coach me.
“I hope, no matter where my career goes — even if it’s outside of WWE. I hope that when I call, he’ll answer because the guy is full of gold,” Page added. “The knowledge he has is worth gold, so I’m very thankful for that.”
