The Motor City Machine Guns signed with WWE and debuted in October, opening the door for many dream matches. Kofi Kingston has expressed his interest in making the dream match between The Motor City Machine Guns and The New Day a reality.
Speaking with Tim Battle and Eli on the Battleground Podcast ahead of the December 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, Kofi Kingston was asked to comment on potentially facing The Motor City Machine Guns.
“It’s amazing, man. I feel like Shelley and Sabin are icons in the tag team aura of WWE,” Kingston said.” It’s crazy that they are here now, and they’re champions. Of course, they’re champions. Of course, because that’s how good they are, that’s how talented they are.
“Yeah, we are looking forward to that opportunity for sure. We gotta figure out a way to either get to SmackDown or get them to Raw and have that banger that has been a fantasy booking match that we never thought was going to be possible, but here we are. I think we’re in a very special time in WWE. We’re getting more people who you never thought would be on WWE programming. WWE is in a really, really special time right now.”
The Motor City Machine Guns lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to #DIY on the December 6 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on Big E on the December 2 episode of WWE RAW.
