For the second night in a row, Matt Cardona confronted ROH World Champion Chris Jericho.
Cardona made a surprise appearance on the December 6 episode of ROH on HonorClub. He interrupted a special edition of ROH World Champion Chris Jericho’s TV Time and answered his challenge for a title match at ROH Final Battle.
The following night on AEW Rampage, Matt Cardona interrupted Jericho when the champion stood up from the commentary team and started cutting a promo about him. They went back and forth, and they started brawling. Jericho’s Learning Tree stablemate Bryan Keith got involved, and he helped Jericho leave Cardona laid out.
Cardona previously had a brief run in AEW following his WWE release in 2020. He did not appear on AEW programming again until he answered TNT Champion Adam Copeland’s open challenge on the March 30 edition of AEW Collision. Cardona remains active on the independent scene, and he continues to wrestle for TNA as well.
