DIY Turn Heel, Win WWE Tag Team Titles On 12/6 WWE SmackDown

#DIY has regained the WWE Tag Team Championship.

On the December 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) were set to defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against the Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins). However, The Street Profits were attacked backstage before the bout. The match was about to be called off before Johnny Gargano volunteered to have #DIY take their place. The Motor City Machine Guns agreed to the new match.

During the bout, Gargano and his tag team partner, Tommaso Ciampa, struggled to get along, which had been the case in recent weeks. Ciampa accidentally kicked Gargano. They argued at different points of the match. Ciampa shoved Gargano, and Johny shoved him back. Ciampa left the ring, and it seemed like he was going to walk away.

The Motor City Machine Guns double-teamed Gargano, but Ciampa distracted the referee. Gargano then hit Sabin below the belt and superkicked Shelley. He tagged Ciampa in after noting that their plan worked. #DIY then hit Meet in the Middle for the win.

The Motor City Machine Guns won the titles by beating The Bloodline on the October 25 episode of WWE SmackDown. This was just their third match with WWE after signing with the company.

#DIY previously won the WWE Tag Team Championships on the July 5 episode of WWE SmackDown and lost them to The Bloodline on August 2.
