Ethan Page Has No Problem Telling People He’s Going To Try And Cheat To Win

Ethan Page is proud of doing anything he can to try and win.

Page spoke with WrestleZone ahead of NXT Deadline. He’ll be in the Iron Survivor match, which grants an NXT Championship opportunity to the winner. Page said he wants to embarrass Je’Von Evans in the match, and he’ll do what no one else in the match will do to win.

That includes cheating.

“Do you think I give a crap morally? No. No, I like winning,” Page explained. “The fans should like winners, but they love losers. So that’s what’s going to happen. I’m going to beat Axiom and then embarrass Je’Von Evans. That, to me, would fill my heart, and that’s all I’m in wrestling for — myself. I’m sick of these other dorks.”

If Ethan Page still wins after cheating, that’s your fault

It’s easy to appreciate Ethan Page’s honesty in some way. He says it’s a simple concept; his job is to win, and he’ll do what it takes to do that, no matter what the arena is.

“You said you like my honesty; I went and did this Ryan Seacrest [pediatric hospital appearance]. It’s a genius idea, he sets up [Seacrest Studios broadcast media centers in pediatric hospitals] and they air it. WWE will go, they send celebrities. Obviously, they sent me. And this little girl looks up at me, we’re about to play Rock ‘Em, Sock ‘Em Robots, I’m forced to do this, whatever.

She just looks at me and goes, ‘Aren’t you ready?’ I go, ‘Yeah… to cheat!’ She couldn’t believe it! ‘You’re telling me you’re going to cheat?’ Yeah, of course, I like winning. I’m trying to win, guys. Get that through your head — I am going to try to win. That’s my job. That’s it.”

Despite his best efforts, Page still lost.

“I lost! She beat me! I tried to cheat! All I’m saying is — I’ll be honest from the jump, I’m gonna cheat. I have no problems telling people,” Page declared. “It actually makes me feel better that I get to tell you before I do it. Because if you’re dumb enough to fall for it after that, joke’s on you, not me.”

NXT Deadline is Saturday, December 7 at The Armory in Minneapolis.
