Kofi Kingston says he and Xavier Woods were just stating facts on WWE RAW.
On the December 2 episode of WWE RAW, Kingston and Xavier Woods turned on Big E as they lashed out at him. They accused him of abandoning them and choosing his personal life over their brotherwood. The duo also told Big E to leave, and he reluctantly did.
Speaking on the Chase & Big Show Show, Kofi Kingston was asked about it being a “new day” after what happened on WWE RAW.
“It is a new day,” Kingston said. “I woke up that next day, I posted it on social media, just feeling brand new. I had actually taken a red-eye flight, and as I woke up on the flight, the sun was rising. It just truly felt like a new day. It was great.
“I felt like the burden had been lifted from my shoulders. Very energetic, emotional night for everybody involved, but I think it’s full speed ahead, we’re rising from this point forward.”
Kofi Kingston On Fans’ Reaction
Kingston was then asked whether he was surprised by the fans’ reaction to the turn. He stated that everything he and Woods said was factual. Kingston noted that fans could be upset, but that did not mean that they were right.
“I can’t say that I’m surprised at the reaction,” Kofi Kingston said. “We’ve really developed quite the rapport with people over the years. So I would have been more surprised if they didn’t care as much as they did. I am surprised that most of these people out here don’t relly understand why we did what we did. We came out there, and you can always tell when you’re right when you make an argument and you state nothing but facts. Everything we said on Monday night was completely factual.
“It was something that, we told the truth. You might not have liked to hear what it was, but then the people online and on social media are cussing at us and cursing us and there are all these insults that have nothing to do with what we were talking about. So I know if you can’t bring a rational argument to the table, that means that you know that you’re wrong because you don’t have any facts to support your argument. Just because you’re upset doesn’t mean that you’re right.”
