Jesse Ventura Returns To The Broadcast Booth For WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

The Body rules WWE once again as Jesse Ventura returns to the broadcast booth for Saturday Night’s Main Event.

WWE Hall of Famer Jesse “The Body” Ventura, the voice of multiple WWE broadcasts in the 1980s will return to the commentary team for Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14.

This was announced this morning on The Ringer’s Bill Simmons Podcast, and later confirmed by WWE on social media.

“He is going to be returning to NBC,” Bill Simmons revealed on his podcast. “WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event returning to broadcast television, Saturday, December 14, 8 PM ET, live. And Jesse, you’re going to be part of the announcing crew, you’re going to do a match or two. Not only are you a Hall Of Famer, but you’re one of the greatest broadcasters of all time, so I am so happy to have you on TV again.”

Ventura expressed his excitement to return to Nassau Coliseum and how Saturday Night’s Main Event is a throwback show for WWE.

“The wrestlers are not coming down that ramp, they’re not coming with all of the lights and the spectacular, they’re coming in through the crowd,” Ventura explained. “Like the old days, that’s why they brought me back! We’re going back in the time capsule, only it’s going to be four times a year.”

Ventura later clarified that he will be back for future episodes of the show in 2025. He also hopes the opportunity brings some closure to his career in pro wrestling.

“I won’t discuss finances, but it’s acceptable, and I’ll be doing four [events] a year,” Ventura confirmed. “I’m back, and for me, it’s concluding a career that probably never should have finished. And maybe now there will be closure. Jesse can broadcast until he dies and then they can have my WWE funeral.” [laughs]

It’s been a while since Jesse Ventura did commentary for WWE

“The Body” last did commentary for the company in 2009 for an episode of RAW. His long-known issues with Vince McMahon have kept him away from the company for quite some time before being brought back into the fold earlier this year.

The current card for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event is as follows:

  • WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes (c) vs. Kevin Owens
  • World Heavyweight Championship: Gunther (c) vs. Finn Balor
  • Women’s World Championship: Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY
  • Women’s United States Championship Finals: Participants TBD

WrestleZone will have live coverage of Saturday Night’s Main Event later this month.
