TNA iMPACT Results
This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT kicks off with a recap of last week’s Turning Point event.
X-Division Championship #1 Contender’s Match: Ace Austin vs. JDC vs. KUSHIDA vs. Leon Slater vs. Trent Seven
- The finish of the match saw KUSHIDA hit Leon Slater with Back to the Future to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: KUSHIDA
KUSHIDA will now challenge Moose for the X-Division Championship at Final Resolution.
Grade: B+
This match was a fun way to start the show. All five men are extremely talented and each could provide a unique type of match against Moose. I didn’t think KUSHIDA would be given the green light to earn the next title shot, but I believe a match between him and Moose can deliver. We’ll see how it goes at Final Resolution.
Is Tasha Steelz ready for Jordynne Grace?
Tasha Steelz is backstage with Gia Miller. Steelz says Jordynne Grace has been a thorn in her side for as long as she can remember, but tonight she’s going to remove that thorn forever. Steelz says she’s sick and tired of dealing with Grace and it all ends tonight as she makes her way towards the Knockouts Championship.
Sami Callihan and PCO vs. The Good Hands
- The finish of the match saw PCO hit the PCO-Sault off Sami Callihan’s shoulders onto one of The Good Hands to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: Sami Callihan and PCO
After the match, the lights go out and a weird video plays on the Tron featuring the number 23. Nothing ends up happening and Callihan is asking what just happened.
Grade: C+
The match was fine, just a big comedown from the opener in my opinion. The most intriguing thing about it was the aftermath. It will be interesting to see what that number 23 is about as it relates to Callihan.
Nic Nemeth’s challenger for TNA Final Resolution revealed
TNA World Heavyweight Champion Nic Nemeth is backstage. Nemeth barely gets to start talking before he’s interrupted by First Cla$$. AJ Francis says it’s been a good year for Nemeth, but it’s been the best year for his career. Francis says he wants to into 2025 as the TNA World Champion. Nemeth says he’ll defend the title against Francis anytime.
Santino Marella comes in to keep things civil and Francis pitches having the title match in Atlanta at Final Resolution. Marella makes the match official and the match is on.
TNA World Tag Team Title Match: The Hardys (c) vs. The System
- The finish of the match saw Alisha Edwards get involved and hit The Hardys with a kendo stick to cause a disqualification.
Winners: Still Tag Team Champions, The Hardys (via disqualification)
After the match, The System beat down The Hardys and put them through a table at ringside.
Grade: B-
Thank God this wasn’t the main event or the grade would be a heck of a lot lower. But man, I for one am so freaking tired of seeing The System in the title picture throughout 2024. They aren’t a main event level stable at this point and need to either be broken up or severely retooled in 2025. Please stop trying to shove them down the fan’s throats.
A lot of title matches are being announced for Final Resolution tonight on TNA iMPACT
Santino Marella comes out after the break and says what just went down was unacceptable and announces that The Hardys will defend their titles against The System at Final Resolution in a tables match.
Jordynne Grace vs. Tasha Steelz
- The finish of the match saw Alisha Edwards get involved, allowing Tasha Steelz to roll up Jordynne Grace with her feet on the ropes to score the pinfall victory.
Winner: Tasha Steelz
Grade: B
This was a big win for Tasha Steelz even though she needed assistance to win. I know that Jordynne Grace is on her way out the door but that doesn’t make the win any less impactful. I would imagine this means Steelz will be the next one to challenge Masha Slamovich for the Knockouts Championship.
It’s time for the main event…
It’s announced minutes later that Tasha Steelz will challenge Masha Slamovich for the Knockouts Championship at Final Resolution.
Frankie Kazarian and The Northern Armory vs. Mike Santana, Eric Young, Jonathan Gresham, and Steve Maclin
- The finish of the match saw Frankie Kazarian hit Jonathan Gresham from behind with the Call Your Shot Trophy while the referee was distracted. Josh Alexander covers Gresham to score the pinfall victory for his team.
Winners: The Northern Armory and Frankie Kazarian
Grade: B-
The winning team celebrates in the aisle as TNA iMPACT goes off the air.
TNA iMPACT Review:
Tonight’s show was a hard sell for the upcoming Final Resolution event. With four title matches announced in one night, you can tell the company is rushing to get the next event and finish up the year. I wouldn’t expect anything groundbreaking from the upcoming event but perhaps we’ll simply just get a good wrestling show with some solid creative choices to put a bright light on TNA heading into 2025.
Grade: B-
